The Mackey Arena is home to the Purdue University's NCAAA basketball teams the Boilermakers. The stadium opened in 1967 with initial construction costs of $6 million and $99.5 million in renovations from 2007-2011. The stadium's current seating capacity has about 700 more seats than when it opened with seating for 14,856. The court, Keady Court named after men's basketball coach Gene Keady, features a hardwood playing surface. The stadium has had many renovations which include a new court in 1997, new bleachers in 2000, a HD Video board and sound system in 2004, and a refurbished playing surface in 2005. The larger renovations from 2007-2011 renovated the athletic facilities, concourse and concessions, restrooms, and made the stadium into a complex that included a training facility.
