The James H. Hilton Coliseum or the Hilton Coliseum for short is home of the Iowa State University's NCAA Basketball, Gymnastics, Volleyball, and Wrestling teams, the Cyclones. The stadium opened in 1971 after 2.5 years of construction and initial construction costs of $8.165 million. The stadium has a seating capacity of 14,384 for basketball game and over 15,000 for music concerts. The stadium has a multi-surface playing floor in order to accommodate the different athletic events. In addition to athletic events the stadium has also hosted music concerts and NCAA regionals and championships. Circuses and ice performances have also taken place at the Coliseum.
