Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is located in Fort Worth Texas. The arena is located on the campus of Texas Christian University. Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is home to the TCU Horned Frogs basketball team since its inaugural in 1961 and the TCU Lady Frogs basketball team since 1977. Construction began on the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum in March 1961 and was completed by December 1961. The coliseum is also referred to as the “DMC”. Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is owned and operated by Texas Christian University. Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is named after Dutch Meyer and Milton Daniel, former TCU coach and former TCU board member respectfully. Daniel-Meyer Coliseum has the seating capacity of 7,201. Its playing surface is a Connor Uni-Force floor. The arena features a four panel LED score board and LED sideline boards installed in 2007. In 2002 renovations included a new men’s locker room and player’s lounge. In 2003 renovations included a new women’s locker room, player’s lounge and a new sports medicine facility. In 2004 a new lighting system was installed. In 2010 a new sound system was installed. In 2013 plans were announced by the University for renovations to modernize the arena and were approved in November 2013. Renovations will include widening of the concourses, additional bathrooms and upgraded concessions. The court will be lowered several feet for additional seating. New offices for coaches, new locker rooms for both TCU and visiting teams and team meeting rooms will be added. Construction began March 2014 and is scheduled to be completed by October 2015. TCU will play the 2014-2015 season at an area arena.
